SUE'S PAGES
Sue is a pretty busy lady but when she works in the store she tries to get a couple pages done. Below are a few of her latest ones.
Alcohol
inks and acetate can make such a neat title.
How unique is this idea with a pair of flip flops.
Leave it to Sue to create something really different!!
Grungeboard & alphabet coloured with pigment inks, brads, chipboard and
journaling on vellum completed this double page layout of Sue's trip to Rome.
Cuttlebug background embossing plates gave texture to the matted photos.
Silk flowers, brads and chipboard finished the pages.
The
alphabet that was used is from Technique Tuesday called Boulder Skyline.
Super fun alpha to work with. Sue used markers and a dove blender to
watercolour inside the letters.
These pages were done with a Bisous PDQ page (see below)
This page was done using 2 sided sticky sheets and glitters. It
is easier to explain this technique in person so drop by the store and we will
explain it in detail.
MY PAGES (PAULINE)
The first page of Rosemary's album!! Check out mat of the picture of Shawna sitting in a chair and the mats on the ultrasound. The border was done with a Fiskar Oval Punch. Going to have to get some more of the oval and circles for the store. I had fun with this product and found it easy to work with plus I really liked the results!!
This cardstock is from The Paper Company and is already decorated with fun flock (the hottest new product on the
market)..funny I used to carry it a few years ago!! On the designs around the
corner of the photos I used the back of the class and peels to put the red flock on and
then glued the other side to the paper at the corners. Adhered pink flock
to the title. I love that paper!!!
Fun to do a type of teabag folding technique around the bottom of the picture.
That's me a little bit ago and I designed the sides with the Pergamano technique!!
My mom in her younger years of course, but as Pergamano is my favourite
technique I did the corners, used the exacto knife, cut around the flowers and
tucked the picture in them.
Using pictures of Grace as a flower girl at a wedding, I designed the most adorable little album using the Album CD Tin.
Have fun with stamps to create unique background looks and titling to your
layouts.
Take a look at the Sleigh embellishment. It was created using the quilling
technique. An easy technique to learn and creates great visuals for cards
and scrapbook layouts.
Journaling is so important to tell the story of your layout and showcase who is
the subject. Use your computer for your journaling if you are
uncomfortable with your handwriting, although handwriting really does
personalize the page. There are so many Font CD's available.
Chatterbox carry's some great ones...the font used in this layout is
chatterbox's phone book.
Twinkle Toes was stamped with Technique Tuesdays clear stamp then I used dries
clear by Art Institute (my favourite glue) to fill in the letters and
sprinkled fine glitter on top.
The bus and words inside were designed with the Cricut Design Studio. Very
ease and fun to use.
Create a little pizzaz with a little ink. The letters in this layout were
cut from white cardstock using the Cricut machine and red chalk ink was sponged
on to create some pizzaz & coordinates the letters with the background
paper.
Have fun with shapes. Your pictures don't always have to be square or
rectangular. Use cutting tools like the Coluzzle to create circles, ovals,
hearts, stars, etc. The coluzzle gives you perfect shapes all the time and
allows you to create the perfect mat for your pictures as well.

The hexagon pictures & background were done with the Coluzzle cutting
system. the title was done with the Cricut and the 'All Mixed Up'
cartridge. I used the creative feature of 'Shadow Blackout' for the white
letters and 'Shadow' for the blue mirrored letters.
Scenic Route arrow paper was cut up for the random arrows & also put through
the Cricut with 'George & Basic Shapes' to create the title. I used
the special feature button, 'slotted'. which puts in the ribbon slot.
OK, I know you're wondering how the words "SUGAR, SPICE" were
done. Very simple!! A Stampendous clear alpha set was inked with the
Essential Glue pad. Once stamped on the paper, winter white glitter was
used on top of the glue & put aside to dry. I then outlined the
letters with a Sakura gold pen.
Forget the stickers...Pine Cone Press have these great theme pages that you can
cut out and out as embellishments. in this layout, the Halloween theme
page was used, but we also carry Christmas and Summer Vacation as well.
Title of this page done with Ultra Think Embosssing
Enamel.
BISOUS "PRETTY DARN QUICK" (PDQ) PAGES
I took a kit home with me over the holidays to try to get caught up with pictures. Sue really enjoys these PDQ pages but I had to yet to work with them. Well it took a few minutes to arrange pictures on the different patterns but all of a sudden things just started to flow. In no time I had so many pages decided and laid out. I made some notes on adding some embellishments, put them in my Pages In Progress (all the sheets, as the magnets are strong) and finished adhering the pictures and embellishments at the store and here are the completed pages.
The solid cardstock was spritzed with the new Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist
Paints. Very cool background and fit my outdoor pictures well.
Mitchell was the Prince at the party so I did the chipboard letters with
Platinum Ultra Thick Embossing Enamel.
Also Hannah's picture frame on
the sample page was done with Bronze UTEE. I also used the Design Runner
and Fusible Fibers. Had a ball doing this page and was very pleased when
it was done.
Hannahs middle picture was matted with the new fusible fibers.
These pages and their titles were done with the new elements from
Art Insitute. There is another page up in the Bisous section above that
has the elements on a Gracie circular page.
The alphabet has been cut out with the Cricut machine and the Jasmine Cartridge. Flowers were punched out with a daisy punch in 2 different
colours and layered. Brads hold the letters on the page and paper is from
My Minds Eye.
Tub time was an easy page of Grace at a younger age (forgot
these pictures) the frogs were cut with the cricut machine.
Third
page says it all... a little Dora swimming pool that Keith inflated so Grace and
her friend Cole could enjoy a nice warm sunny day.
This is a page I created to illustrate how paper folding can
be used on a scrapbook page.
BRENDA'S PAGES!
Don't be afraid to mix up patterns of a coordinating line of paper. The
colours and tones make the patterns work together to create a coordinated
look. In this layout, The Explore line from We R Memory Keepers was used
to create a fun filled layout. Also crop and line your pictures in a
vertical row and/or horizontal line to create a visual flow.
Incorporate
pockets in your scrapbook layouts to hold special memorabilia.
Provo Craft has this wonderful machine call the Cuttlebug. It cuts &
embosses and has gained quite a reputation. Use the embossingfolders to
create fun textured papers to your layouts. In this layout a piece of
orange cardstock was embossed using the Bloom Dots embossing folder to
coordinate with the patterned paper used in the layout.
Be creative in your titling and embellishments. In this layout the STAR
WARS title is actually cut from the packaging from a Star Wars toy. The
letters were filled in with Staz On black ink. Creates a very specialized
look.
