Programs Fall Flings

Fall Flings

It's always a sigh of relief when our event is over due to all the work involved. As in past years we had a lot of fun and are pleased with the positive comments we received with the make and takes, goody bags, door prizes, treats and meals. We had a garage sale on Sat. and played Bingo on Sunday and in the end we raised $280.00 for the Canadian Cancer Society. Thanks to all the ladies for your generosity.  Enjoy the pictures.

Here's Brenda and I working hard on a Sunday afternoon putting together the goody bags, door prizes, goodies etc.  A couple glasses of wine made it a most enjoyable day!

The Fall Fling is finally over.  Every year it's alot of work but we all have fun when the weekend arrives.  I'll be adding more pictures as they are passed to me.  (I was alittle busy to take many myself).  Here's a few to start...

Bryan Hann taught his class on the Friday night and even though all the students used the same stamps take a look at how different the cards turned out just by some placing their stamps differently.

Door Prizes for all our attendees.

fling_2010_doorprizes

Every year at our event we do something to raise money for the Canadian Cancer Society.  This year we had 113 items to raffle off.  The items were mainly stamps donated from the Stamplicity workshop and from Bryan and Sandy Hann.  They were gently used items and the attendees could purchase tickets 5 for $1.00 and put them into the cups of the items they wanted to win.  All the draws were done at the end of the day.  It was fun, everyone was pleased with their winnings and we raised $150.00 for Cancer research.

Here are some comments from a couple of the attendees.

It’s 8:30 and I have just finished going through the goodie bag.  Inez so graciously took my place on Saturday after a last minutes request but left me with all the cards and supplies beautifully crafted.  I was very pleased to see new ideas.  It was the stimulation I needed.  Inez was extremely pleased with Saturday and mentioned a desire perhaps to go next year.  I felt that goody bags were very generous and I have no regrets.  I would like to thank you and all your staff for a wonderful day.  It was obvious there was a lot of hard work and efforts put forth to bring it all together.  Hoping that you have your feet up  and talking about how much of a success this was.  Again , thanks Glenna

Hi Pauline

I can't get over the Trouble you went to in making us welcome, starting with the goodybag, the beautyful lunchboxes, the raffle, the doorprizes. you all went to soo much trouble.  I enjoyed all the classes an make + takes, I learned a lot.
Thank you all again, Ingrid

Hi Pauline:
Congratulations on a very successful weekend.  Thanks to you and all the many people assisting you for coming up with something new again.  These past years of stamping weekends have brought so much to my life.  I am looking forward to getting into some of the new things we learned.  Hope you are getting some rest and your cold is getting better.  Carole

Hi Pauline:   Just wanted to let you know that we enjoyed the Fall Fling. It was my sister's first time and she loved it! The venue was wonderful and our group really liked the boxed lunches. As usual the prizes were great. And all the "extra touches" made us feel special. The make and takes workshop schedule was well run and the choices were all different which made it even more enjoyable. Coming to the Fall Fling is one of the highlights in September for me!

Please let your team know that they did a great job which I really appreciate.  Thanks   Debbie

The pictures below are of our yearly Fall Fling that we hold the second weekend in September. It was great this year as we held it in our store and at a vacant store directly across the street. We had 54 ladies either take Stampscapes classes, sit for the day at an assigned table to do cropping or cardmaking or take part in our make and takes throughout the weekend. We even had a card swap that Sue organized and 8 ladies participated in. Our local merchants or the companies I deal with were very generous with give-aways or door prizes. We had a large group decide to have supper at a local restaurant on the Sat. evening. The food was good and the company great. If the comments we heard about the weekend were anything to go by I would say everyone had a great time. It was such a treat for me not to have to pack up half the store to take it to another venue that my goal is to continue to have this yearly event in my hometown in the downtown area. We'll see how things shape up next year.

Many thanks to those attendees that supported my event this year.
