Resources Newflashes STAMPLICITY FEBRUARY 2009 NEWSFLASH

I think everyone is feeling the same about how long this winter is becoming. At least I had 4days in California with 60 degrees and no snow. Spent most of the days in a large convention centre walking from booth to booth and I’ll tell you about that shortly. First, I have to tell you about my last day coming home. Plane was to leave at 8:45 AM. and we thought we left in plenty of time. L.A. traffic proved us wrong. Checked in with a ½ hour to spare and it went downhill from there. My luggage was 25 pounds over weight due to all the catalogs in my suitcase. I could either pay $190.00 for the one suitcase or buy a box for $10.00 and separate the things to have 2 items within the 50 pounds. When I handed her my passport she proceeded to tell me I was late and probably would not make the flight. Frantically I repack things and race up to the lineup for going through security. They took away a salad I had because of the dressing, took my bottled water and still ran my carry on and purse through the x-ray 3 times. All the time I was waiting, they were calling my name throughout the terminal “Pauline Bain please check in at Gate 22" (Heard that 5 times!!) I ran through the terminal in my sock feet and did make the flight but had at least 100 passengers staring me down as I walked to the my seat at the back of the plane as the plane did wait for me a bit. Then I landed in Buffalo in a snow storm!!! It’s a funny story now...wasn’t at the time!! That was a short version of the story...there were a few other incidents but I’m sure I’ve told you more than you wanted to know. Now I’ll get to the part everyone wants to hear about.

WHAT WAS EXCITING AT THE CONVENTION????

I made a decision on two companies and because I ordered their products I was able to bring home the item right from the show. That almost never happens!! If you can’t get into the store to see a demo of these new products, I am putting the websites here so you can check them out instead of waiting until you visit us again.
1st products are from Crafters Companion and is the Ultimate Crafters Companion Pro. AND Round a Block

2nd product is Sounds Easy......

I am very excited about these innovative products and just felt they were a must to sell in the store! Have already sold 6 Companions!!! The Companion was voted the most innovative scrapbooking & paper arts product at the 2009 CHA Trade show!!!!

As far as other products I want to purse, the following are the name of the products and their website. If you can find some time and look at these sites I would greatly appreciate your input as a consumer. It’s great for us to get some feedback on potential products as it’s you, our customers, who determine if what we carry in the store is what you are looking for. We value your opinion!!!!! Please just reply to this email with your comments.

NEW COMPANIES

The above is just a few new companies that peaked my interest. I found some amazing papers and stamps from the existing companies I order from. 2009 promises to be another exciting year of exciting new products I’ll be bringing into the store.

Making Memories is bringing out 12 new discs for their new Slice machine but it will take about 5 months before all of them will be available. Something to be aware of is, if you see new products in magazines they will probably not be available for a few months down the road. Companies try to “feel” the consumer out to see if products will be popular. Some products are even prototypes and aren’t even in factories being made yet. Provo Craft is a company well known for that and Making Memories had everyone talking about The Slice for well over a year before it was even out on the market. They get people excited with the anticipation of a new product hoping it will be a big hit right away..

NEW CLASSES

Due to popular demand Brenda has designed 2 classes on how to get more out of your Cricut machine. Check the site for samples of the Scrapbooking class and card making class with this machine. She’s done an amazing job with these classes!!!!!! Sue is working on a class called “Inks and Powders Revisted” and she is also taking a day long class in Buffalo in March to become a Registered teacher of Copic Markers. These alcohol based markers have become very popular and there is a definite need for people to get the most out of the purchase of this product. The markers are amazing but are on the pricey side so you will want to take a class from Sue to get the most value for these markers if you purchase them. Sue is definitely the one to become a Registered teacher. She has a great background in this area.

Brenda’s Bright Idea is ready for February and March and up on the site. Check the double page spread for these 2 months. I have pictures of some of the displays at the show in California on the site under the page “Special Events’. These are products I am interested in pursuing. Some are new companies, and
some are existing companies with new stamps. Check it out if you have some time!!

While on the site check out the Sweet Deals for February and March as well as the March break activities we have for the kids. Now is the time to get over these winter blues and get back into your hobby. We have lots for you to get involved in!!! Keep in touch ladies......Pauline
