Stamplicity Blog

With any new year comes changes in everyones lives.  This is true in regards to Brenda and although Brenda remains very much a part of Stamplicity she finds herself unable to carry on with the blog.

So I ask myself, how difficult can it be?   If I stay away from the you tube thing and anything complicated that could drive me over the edge, I should be able to handle a blog.  I tell myself to just keep it interesting, informative,  funny, a little bit personal, keep it in a simple format that I can handle and it could be popular. So that's just what I'm going to do.

Be kind to me, remember my frustration with computers and know that I will try to keep it up daily even if I have some late nights putting some interesting news up.

I was commenting to a good customer, a real sweetie, (you know who you are) how hard it is to get everything done in a day, including this blog and my goal to get a card done a day and she gave me some good advice.  She said just even mention about something that you did today that was interesting and different and don't stress about getting a card done.  So that's just what I will do.

My day, as well as waiting on customers, was to direct my sweetie, Keith, on what we want changed in the store.  Wouldn't take long I said!!!!  So as usual, what started as minor changes has become an entire new plan.  You must visit us and check out how we have changed the paper, embelllishment, stamp and bargain area.  Now alittle more painting will be involved as well, so I'm sure Keith is sorry he said sure I can do that first thing this morning.  Safe to say he'll be in the store with me again tomorrow.  Brenda and I are so excited about the changes.  As well I learned today my order of Memory Box and Poppystamp dies should be here by the end of the week and Hero Arts!!

Yea!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow it was a crazy busy day and even though I was opened till nine I was only able to get the following card done.  I must confess I had started this card alittle while ago but at least doing this blog is making me take the time to create and finish some projects I started.  To make this card you need a shimmer sheetz, cool highlite glitter ritz, double sided sticky sheet, embossing folder, a die cut machine,a sizzix butterfly die and cardstock.

Take your butterfly die and with a shimmer sheetz cut out the image.  Then take an embossing folder and run the butterfly through the machine with the folder to create embossing on the butterfly.  On a sticky sheet put the embossing butterfly shiny side down and burnish it firmly to transfer the oils from the sheet onto the sticky sheet.  When you lift up the butterfly the residue from the sheet will remain on the sticky sheet.  You can then apply cool highlite glitter ritz to the areas that are still sticky.  I added a few embellishments to finish it off.  I know it's probably hard to see the effect under the butterfly I adhered to the panel, but it is a very cool effect.  Mount the panel onto a card.

I'm saying this is Feb 4th as I told myself I would not do the blog on a Sunday.  It would be my day off.  If you check  under January 30th you'll see what I started on that day. Well here's the finished product.  This design was done with the Cheery Lynn die   "Nautical Wheeler Doily"  DL180.

Gee this die was so easy to cut and many other ones as well but you must have that metal adapter.  I used that metallic paper from sparkraft.  So lovely with these dies.

I knew it would be a busy day today with Keith picking up parcels from Buffalo so I actually got the following card done yesterday and held back on it to have something to put in the article today.  Take a look at January 30th to see what I started out with.  I used double sided sticky sheet, & sand Glitter Ritz as background, Used Tim's tattered leaves, bronze shimmer sheetz and leafy flourish embossing folder to design the leaves.  Used the Tattered acorn die from Tim, glued the acorns and then sprayed them with Goosebumps.  Punched the yellow layer panel with the corner adorner Trumpet punch and glued the entire thing onto an expresso cardstock.  This one was fun to do.  Picture of course doesn't do the card justice.  Took the night off tonight and got my friend Karen out to a show.  As she is now in a wheelchair it is a challenge.  Went to see "Descendants" with George Clooney,  Wasn't impressed.

Still have one card to complete from the 30th article.   Will get that one done tomorrow.
